At Elevate Global, our Elevating Purpose plan guides everything we do – from championing inclusion to giving our teams the tools and support they need to thrive. As part of that commitment, we launched Elevation in 2022 – our internal mentoring programme that pairs mentees with mentors from across Elevate to support personal development, build confidence, and guide career growth.

We believe that collaboration drives progress, and our Elevation programme is a great example of that in action. Originally launched to support HQ staff, the programme expanded in 2024 to include our global field team – a move that saw applications grow by nearly 300% and earned us a finalist spot for Agency Mentorship Programme of the Year at the FF15 Mentoring Awards. In 2025, we’re building on that momentum by inviting our clients to join as mentors.

ElevateHer & Inclusive Growth

Through Elevation and our ElevateHER initiative – which champions the next generation of women in events – we’re driving inclusive, impactful mentoring experiences that are shaping the future of our industry. To support this, female mentees can choose to be paired with female mentors, creating a space where conversations about the unique challenges women face can happen naturally and authentically. With our recent ElevateHER report showing that 70% of respondents see access to mentoring as a major barrier, it’s clear just how essential this programme is in breaking down walls and unlocking potential.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is about helping individuals develop more effectively through a supportive relationship that builds confidence and empowers the mentee to take control of their personal and professional growth. Unlike training, teaching, or coaching, mentoring doesn’t require the mentor to be a qualified trainer or an expert in the mentee’s specific role. The primary role of a mentor is to listen and ask insightful questions that encourage the mentee to identify the actions they need to take for their development.

Who can apply to be a mentee?

The programme is open to all Elevate team members, including HQ staff and field teams.

Who can apply to be a mentor?

Mentors can be team members from Elevate HQ as well as Elevate’s client companies. This mix provides a wide range of expertise and perspectives to support the mentees.

How do I apply?

Just fill out our quick Typeform application – it only takes around 7 minutes.

How are mentors and mentees matched?

Mentees apply and indicate the areas they wish to develop. Mentors provide their areas of expertise, and a working session pairs mentees with suitable mentors, ensuring a fair and unbiased selection process.

What does the mentorship process involve?

  • An introductory session where pairings are announced
  • Mentor training developed in partnership with an industry leading coach
  • Programme resources and guidelines to support both mentors and mentees
  • Meetings at least once every six weeks over a period of nine months to discuss progress and development goals
  • A midway feedback session to ensure objectives are being met and address any challenges

Can I choose my mentor?

Mentees can indicate their preferred areas of development, and we aim to match them with a mentor who specialises in those areas. Additionally, female mentees can request to be paired with female mentors through our ElevateHer initiative.

Who is responsible for setting up meetings?

We recommend that mentors take the lead in scheduling and facilitating regular meetings. That said, the mentoring relationship should be a two-way effort – mentees are encouraged to actively shape the agenda and set development goals to get the most out of each session.

How do the meetings happen? Do I need to attend in person?

Meetings can happen via Teams, so don’t worry you won’t need to attend in person! In your kick off session your mentor will ask you for your key hopes and goals for the programme, you will also discuss the logistics around meeting booking and frequency so you can work on a plan that works for you both.

Do I automatically get a place if I apply?

Unfortunately, not – space is limited depending on the number of Mentors we have. Please don’t be disappointed if you don’t secure a place this year, we will be back next year!

When does the Elevation mentoring programme run?

The programme will run for nine months, from September to June. During this time, mentors and mentees meet regularly – at least once every six weeks – to discuss progress, set goals, and support development.

What are the Rules of Engagement?

To make the mentoring relationship work, both mentors and mentees commit to being reliable, respectful, and honest throughout the programme. You’ll agree to keep conversations confidential and take responsibility for scheduling and attending meetings regularly. This commitment helps everyone stay accountable and get the most value from the experience.

When will I find out if I’ve been selected?

We’ll review all applications in July and contact those chosen to join the 2025 cohort soon after.

What if I can’t commit to meeting every 6 weeks?

To make the most of the programme, it’s important that you’re able to meet every 6 weeks. If it becomes clear that this commitment isn’t being met, we may need to offer your place to someone else.

Am I paid for the time I give to the sessions?

The programme is voluntary, so sessions aren’t paid. The value comes from the development, growth, and experience gained through mentoring.

What happens at the end of the programme?

Mentees and mentors will have a final review session to reflect on development milestones. Graduates of the programme will also gain continued access to Elevation’s mentoring network.

Both mentees and mentors will be encouraged to exchange LinkedIn recommendations based on the skills and insights gained from the experience, helping to showcase your growth and strengthen your professional profiles.

Applications are now closed. Thanks to everyone who registered their interest – stay tuned for next year’s programme.
