Bringing horror to life: “Pet Sematary” premiere activation at SXSW 2019

Elevate Global partnered with Allied Global Marketing to deliver an immersive, eerie experience for the world premiere of Pet Sematary at SXSW

What We Did

To mark the closing night of the SXSW Film Festival, Elevate Global supported Allied Global Marketing in bringing Stephen King’s Pet Sematary to life with an unsettling, theatrical activation. Across two days, 11 brand ambassador actors created eerie, immersive experiences at key locations in Austin, capturing the film’s haunting atmosphere and engaging audiences in unexpected ways.

How We Did It

On Friday, actors were stationed near motion-activated branded barricades in Austin, where they handed out flowers and interacted with passersby to build the eerie atmosphere. On Saturday, two procession routes led up to the screening, where actors walked in a single-file line, accompanied by drummers playing the Pet Sematary beat, setting the tone for the premiere.
