At Elevate Global, we’re committed to celebrating the women shaping the future of our industry. As part of our ElevateHER initiative, we’ve launched the Women in Events series to highlight their stories and impact.
This month, we’re spotlighting Corinna Moritz, Account Director DACH at Elevate Global. From stadium floors in Hamburg to global motorsport circuits, Corinna’s journey through the events industry has been shaped by scale, resilience, and above all, people.
Her Journey into Events
Corinna began her career in Germany, completing an apprenticeship in event management at a small exhibition company in Hamburg, primarily working on corporate events.
“That was where I learned the foundations – logistics, client coordination, timelines, and the reality of what happens behind the scenes to make an event work.”
She later moved to FC St. Pauli, managing corporate events within the stadium. Outside of match days, the space transformed into a venue for weddings, conferences, trade shows, and large-scale events – sometimes even on the football pitch itself.
“It was there that I realised how powerful live experiences can be.”
Her defining turning point came when she relocated to the UK to join Tough Mudder. Starting as an Event Coordinator, she supported on-site delivery across logistics, supplier management, event villages, catering, and IT infrastructure. During live events, she often stepped into Volunteer Manager roles, leading hundreds of volunteers.
“That experience shifted everything for me. I realised my true passion wasn’t just event delivery – it was workforce and people.”
She went on to lead volunteer and workforce operations at London Marathon Events and later worked globally with Formula One, navigating international teams and large-scale delivery across cultures.
“Each step shaped me, but the common thread has always been people.”

Challenges That Shaped Her Journey
Events are fast-paced and high-pressure – and Corinna is candid about the demands of the industry.
“The hours are long. The pressure is high. You’re solving problems in real time, often with no room for hesitation. That environment forces you to build resilience quickly.”
Working internationally added another layer of complexity, with different expectations around leadership and communication. As a woman in events, there were moments where she had to assert her voice more firmly.
“What I learned is this: confidence comes from preparation. When you know your work, when you’ve done the groundwork, you have every right to speak up. Capability has nothing to do with gender.”
She also emphasises that respect outweighs authority in building strong teams.
“Mutual respect builds stronger teams than authority ever will.”
Standout Moments and Career Highlights
There have been many moments that stand out.
At Tough Mudder, running the course herself gave Corinna a powerful perspective on participant experience. At London Marathon Events, standing at the finish line after race day was deeply emotional.
“Watching runners cross after months of training, many running for deeply personal reasons, was something special. Knowing our workforce made that moment possible is something I will always be proud of.”
Working globally with Formula One was another defining chapter, pushing her professionally and personally.
But her proudest moments are always team-focused.
“When you’ve worked long days and things feel intense, then you see everyone come together, support each other, and deliver – that’s what stays with you.”

What Drives Her Today
Now Account Director DACH at Elevate, Corinna’s passion for workforce has evolved even further.
“Workforce isn’t just about filling roles. It’s about understanding personalities, strengths, motivations, and cultural fit.”
For her, placing the right people on the right project determines whether an event simply runs – or truly succeeds.
“When you match the right individuals with the right environment, you create high-performing teams that not only hit KPIs but genuinely elevate the experience.”
Her Advice for Women Starting Out in Events
Corinna’s advice for women entering the industry is grounded in experience:
• Find what excites you – your path doesn’t have to be linear.
• Build resilience – the industry is demanding but rewarding.
• Stand up for yourself and believe in your voice.
• Build genuine relationships and lead with respect.
“Don’t make yourself smaller to fit into the room. You belong there.”
